Benny Page
Back in the day at a tender young age of 15 Benny made a conscious decision to dedicate the rest of his life to his one passion ‘Music!’ under the influence of Jungle and Hip hop Benny was heavily inspired by the early jungle years of the mid 90′s, with tunes like ‘code red’ on congo natty and ‘terrorist’ by Ray Keith to name a few… After a few years at a college course in music technology where Benny was taught to hone his skills he was soon ready for the world of drum n bass as tunes shuch as ‘Chainsaws’ & ‘Sneaker Pimp’ were released on south london based Cutterz Choice. These tunes set Benny on his way to a full time studio addict as well as getting him recognition by the late legend John Peel and This made people in dnb seen such as Nicky Blackmarket Kenny Ken and Bailey to name a few keen to link up. in 2006 It was Shy FX and his then brand new ‘Digital Soundboy’imprint where Benny really made his mark in the seen with the massive club anthem ‘Turn Down The Lights’ which got the backing of the likes off zane low and annie mac of bbc radio one, the track was also featured in Jaguar Skills ‘History of DnB’ and Andy C’s ‘Nightlife’ Album and was then followed up by a string of releases on digital soundboy and benny has ever scince been one of the labels in house producers.. after travelling all over europe, canada and america as a dj benny recieved ‘Best breakthrough DJ 2008’ at the drum n bass awards, an awesome achievement for someone who had only been mixing for 5yrs . Having a broad range of musical interests Benny is able to bring a unique and different sound to his music, mixing up different genres to produce a one off sound that appeals to a broad range of people. With this in mind Benny started to produce the music that he likes at any tempo he feels fit and quickly found his feet as well as established his reputation for quality in producing a new sound at 140bpm ‘Dub Step’, releasing tunes such as ‘Step Out’ & Trigger Finger’ Benny set a new heavy rolling bass sound in Dub Step that was quickly adopted by people such as Rusko Caspa Skream ect. Recently Benny has teamed up with life long friend Zero G who has had an influence on Bennys sound from the very early days (and Vise Versa) and the two of them are currently whiling many hours away in the studio putting together some of the most interesting beats to hit the underground scene . Benny has collaborated with many artists over the years doing remixes for Shy FX, Aphrodite,Skitz,Gyptian,Giggs, topcat and has worked with artists such as Spyda,David Boomah, and his Mc of choice Sye-Mc to mention just a few. Benny would like to send huge thanks out to everyone that has supported him in the industry such as Shy FX, Marcus Visionary,Annie Mac,Dj Bailey, Nicky Blackmarket, John Peel (RIP), Mary Anne Hobbs, dope ammo, Engine Earz, Zero G, Sye-Mc, Tania @ UMC,
